I'm so glad that it is summer salad season! I hope that you appreciate alliteration as well as a great cold side salad. I know I do! Last month, I shared my recipe for Quinoa and Avocado Salad. Now I will share with you one of my very favorite side salads. I have made this one so many times that I have lost count. This is my go-to recipe to bring to a pot luck or summer barbecue.
After the jump you can get the full recipe with pictures. Enjoy!

Gettin' Dirty With It
(Now say the title of this post to the tune of Will Smith's "Gettin' Jiggy With It")
On Sunday we planted our garden. My neighbors and Mike and I spent about an hour and a half out there and the results are exciting! I can't wait to make bruschetta and mojitos and caprese salad and salsa and the possibilities are endless!
In the herbs department, we have planted parsley, two kinds of basil, mint, and sage. Still to be planted is cilantro, chives, and oregano. As far a veggies go, we have green peppers, cucumbers, jalapeƱos, poblanos, hot peppers, heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, and plum tomatoes.
After the jump, you can get a closer look at the process.
